The Tanning Process

Tanning takes place in a private SunFX cubicle, open on one side for spraying.

It is not necessary to remove all your clothing, only that which covers those areas to be tanned. Once you step into the cubicle I will guide you to stand in various positions to ensure a perfect tan is applied evenly over all areas of the body. This is one of the main reasons why our application technique is so successful: a qualified therapist is ensuring that the tan is applied properly, unlike automated tanning booths where there is no guarantee that the person being sprayed is in the correct position to ensure a perfect tan.

Once finished, you can then get dressed immediately.

Before Tanning

Exfoliate your body several days before you tan. This can easily be accomplished by rubbing a damp soapy face washer firmly over the skin when you are showering. SunFX Glow Body Polish is recommended for exfoliation but you can use any exfoliate. Pay attention to rough areas like knees, elbows, ankles and the tops of your feet. Do not apply deodorant or moisturiser to your skin on the day of the tanning treatment. This will reduce your tanning result. Wear attire appropriate for tanning: we suggest a dark underwear or bikini for women. Comfortable and loose fitting clothing are recommended after your tanning session. Apply nail varnish to your finger and toenails prior to your session. The solution does not penetrate the hair follicle, but you may wish to use a headband to tie your hair back to keep your hair clear of the body.

After Tanning

Your tan is dried as it is applied but requires time to be absorbed into your skin. We recommend that you do not shower for at least 8 hours after the treatment. Showering in the morning of the next day is your best option. Do not exercise or perspire excessively between your tanning session and this showering phase. When you do shower do not be concerned when some of the initial bronzer washes off. This is all part of the process. Your skin will continue to tan. Pat your skin dry after showering. Apply moisturiser twice daily after this shower. This reduces the rate at which your skin exfoliates. This will help you keep your tan looking better for longer. SunFX Glow Body Moisturiser with Almond Oil helps to prolong your tan.

Topping Up your Tan

After 5/7 days, if you require a top up in order to keep your perfect tan for longer then the same process is repeated but a finer mist is applied. Generally, the initial tanning process takes 5 - 10 minutes and the top up process takes just 3 - 6 minutes.

Mobile Pop Up Tent

I use a portable popup tanning both that allow me to give quality spray tans to my clients in there own homes, these tents are designed to allow a full body tan to be applied without the worry of tanning solution being spread around the home.

Although the tanning solution is easily washed off with water, prevention is always best and results in an all round improved experience.
